§ 31.03 TAX ASSESSOR/COLLECTOR; CITY SECRETARY.
   (A)   The Office of City Secretary shall and is hereby separated from the Office of Tax Assessor/Collector of the city and the duties of the Tax Assessor/Collector shall be hereafter performed by the person designated below.
   (B)   The Tax Assessor/Collector hereof shall perform all duties and functions provided by law for tax assessors and collectors of municipal corporations. The Chief Deputy, so appointed, shall perform the duties as may be imposed upon the appointee by law, by the Tax Assessor/Collector, and in absence of the Tax Assessor/Collector shall perform the duties and functions provided by law for tax assessor collectors of municipal corporation for the city.
   (C)   Before entering upon the performance of the duties of office, the appointed Tax Assessor/Collector and Chief Deputy shall take the constitutional oath of office required by law and shall give bond, conditioned upon the faithful performance of the duties of office and accounting for all tax funds coming into the hands of the appointees. The amount of the bond shall be as set by Council.
   (D)   The Office of City Secretary shall continue to perform the duties of Treasurer of the city until otherwise ordained by the City Council.
