§ 150.17 NATIONAL ELECTRIC CODE.
   (A)   It is the desire of the City Council to adopt, in all respects, a standard electric code, as promulgated by the National Fire Protection Association, to facilitate proper inspection activities by the city.
   (B)   The city hereby adopts the National Electric Code, 2014 edition, by reference as though it was fully copied herein.
   (C)   It is hereby ordered that any matters in the Code which are contrary to existing ordinances of the city shall prevail, and that existing ordinances are hereby repealed and, to that extent, any existing ordinances to the contrary are hereby repealed to that extent only.
   (D)   It is further ordered that within the Code, when reference is made to the duties of a certain official named therein, that designated official of the city, who has duties corresponding to those of the named official in the Code shall be deemed to be the responsible official insofar as enforcing the provisions of the Code are concerned.
   (E)   Notwithstanding the provisions of the National Electric Code, 2014 edition, adopted herein, the city hereby amends the code to provide that, at a minimum, EMT conduit shall be required in all commercial buildings with separate ground wire.
