Council hereby elects to accept and become bound by the provisions of Section 1005 of the Borough Code, which section provides for the annual appointment, by resolution, of a certified public accountant or a competent public accountant or a firm of certified public accountants or a competent firm of public accountants to make an independent examination of the accounting records of the Borough, with the several powers conferred upon such Independent Auditor by Sections 1196 through 1198 of such Code or as may hereafter be provided by law.
