The Mayor, unless Council shall direct otherwise, or Council by administration order, is hereby empowered to place and maintain painted or otherwise marked safety zones, traffic and parking lanes, crosswalks for pedestrians, “no parking”, “no U-turn”, “no left turn” or “stop” signs or signals, or such other traffic signs, signals or standards as he, she or it may deem necessary for the proper control of traffic or the parking of vehicles.
