(A) Appointment of Village Engineer. The Mayor, with the advice and consent of the Village Board, may appoint an Engineer for the village, who shall serve for the term of the Mayor, or for such period not exceeding the term of the Mayor, as may be designated by the Mayor and the Village Board.

(B) Duties; salary. The Engineer for the village shall make and submit plans, estimates and specifications for any public work, which may be proposed or ordered by the Village Board. He or she shall also examine all public works under his or her charge and see that the plans, estimates and specifications for the same are properly executed.
