(A) The penalty for providing either a check or authorizing an electronic withdrawal from a person’s account that is returned to the village due to insufficient funds shall be as follows.
(1) The penalty for the first offense is a $25 fee in addition to any other penalty that may be assessed in accordance with other rules and regulations of the village.
(2) The penalty for the second offense is a $25 fee in addition to any other penalty that may be assessed in accordance with other rules and regulations of the village.
(3) The penalty for the third offense is a $25 fee in addition to any other penalty that may be assessed in accordance with other rules and regulations of the village. In addition, no further checks or electronic withdrawal transactions will be accepted from the same party who issued the insufficient fund check or was responsible for the rejection of the electronic withdrawal transaction due to insufficient funds during the forthcoming year from the date of the initial offense.
(B) Payment will be accepted in the form of cash, a money order or a cashier’s check.
