The purpose of these regulations is to provide a uniform and comprehensive set of standards for the location and development of facilities intended for the production and distribution of cannabis as provided in the Illinois Compassionate Use of Medical Cannabis Program Act (Public Act 098-0122; 410ILCS 130/) and the Illinois Cannabis Regulation and Taxation Act (Public Act 101-0027; 410 ILCS 705/). The intent of these regulations is to protect the public health, safety and community welfare, while allowing the development of centers for the regulated and controlled production and distribution of cannabis, and ensuring that the provisions of state and village law are met.
