§ 73.086 EQUIPMENT REQUIREMENTS.
   (A)   Every all-terrain vehicle or utility-type vehicle shall be equipped with the following:
      (1)   A bicycle safety flag which extends not less than five feet above the ground attached to the rear of such vehicle. Such flag shall be triangular in shape with an area of not less than 30 square inches and shall be Day-Glo in color;
      (2)   A brake system maintained in good operating condition, including functioning brake light(s);
      (3)   An adequate muffler system in good working condition; and
      (4)   A United States Forest Service Qualified Spark Arrester.
   (B)   Any owner of an all-terrain vehicle or utility-type vehicle who wishes to use a trailer shall ensure that the trailer has functioning taillights and brake lights and that the trailer is connected by a ball mount or pin type hitch. Whenever a trailer is being used to haul cargo, all cargo must be securely attached to the trailer in such a manner that the cargo remains secured without any assistance of the operator.
