(A) Duration of impoundment. The duration of impoundment for a dog impounded by an Animal Control Officer pursuant to G.S. § 130A-192 shall be 72 hours. At the expiration of said time, if the dog has not been reclaimed by its owner, it shall be disposed of as authorized by G.S. § 130A-192.
(B) Impoundment fee. A dog impounded by an Animal Control Officer pursuant to G.S. § 130A-192 shall not be returned to its owner until the owner shall have paid to the Animal Control Shelter such impoundment fee as may have been established by the county.
