When a pitched roof of any type is installed on an existing building that has a flat/slanted roof, all presently installed old, combustible roof covering materials (including bituminous, asphalt, roof shingles) must be removed before installing new pitched roof, and an inspection made by the inspection department. All removed, discarded roofing materials must be removed from the premises within three (3) working days of completion of the job.
