Sec. 4-6. Depositing trash on beaches or shores or in adjacent waters.
   (a)   It shall be unlawful for any person to throw or deposit, or cause or permit to be thrown or deposited, any glass, bottles, glassware, cans or pieces thereof or any garbage, waste, trash or refuse of any kind on the public beaches or shores and quasipublic beaches or shores of the town, along the Atlantic Ocean and other waters and waterways in the town or in the waters adjacent to the beaches and shores thereof.
   (b)   Trash shall be deposited in the receptacles provided at the entrance of each public beach access. These receptacles are marked identifying them as the Town of Surf City's and are to be used solely for trash collected on the beach. Depositing household and construction waste in the receptacles at public beach accesses is prohibited. See section 4-6(c) for information related to fine associated with violation.
   (c)   G.S. 14-399. No person shall intentionally throw, scatter, spill, or place any liter on or in property not owned by that person. Punishment is two hundred fifty dollars ($250.00) to one thousand dollars ($1,000.00) fine and up to twelve (12) hours community service.
