The members of the fire department with fire apparatus going to a fire, medical emergency, or any other call for assistance, shall have the right-of-way through any street in the town over all other vehicles. All persons operating motor vehicles or other vehicles shall stop or move so as to permit fire apparatus and other vehicles driven by the fire department to have the right-of-way in carrying on their respective work.
