In cases where there is very little fall in a customer’s sewer line in regards to the utility main sewer line and where customer has had a problem with sewer back-up, it is the responsibility of the owner to install a one-way flow check valve at a point in his or her sewer line to protect the customer’s property at no expense to the utility.
