(B) All holidays are approved by the Town Council annually.
(C) If New Year’s Eve falls on a weekend, it will not be observed.
(D) Regular full-time employees are paid for holidays at their regular rate of pay. If a holiday falls on a Saturday, the employee will receive the Friday before off with their regular rate of pay. If the holiday falls on a Sunday, the employee will receive the Monday after off with their regular rate of pay.
(E) In observance of each authorized holiday, both full-time and part-time employees will normally be granted the day off from work. Only full-time employees shall receive straight time holiday pay for each authorized holiday.
(F) An employee must work the scheduled day before and the scheduled day after the holiday to receive pay for the holiday.
(G) If a holiday occurs while an employee is on vacation, such vacation day will not be charged against his or her vacation leave. Employees must be in a paid status the day before and the day after a holiday in order to be paid for the holiday.
(H) An employee scheduled to return from a non-paid leave on the day after a holiday will not be paid for the holiday. An employee whose leave without pay is approved through the end of the last business day preceding a holiday is also presumed to be on leave during the holiday, and will not receive compensation for the holiday, unless the Town Council has specifically authorized pay.
(I) Military leave takes precedence over a holiday if an employee is on military leave when a holiday occurs.
(J) The holiday schedule may be amended by the Town Council.
