§ 35.078  USE OF OFFICE PHONE AND MAIL SYSTEMS.
Personal use of the telephone for long-distance and toll calls is not permitted. Employees should practice discretion when making local personal calls and may be required to reimburse the town for any charges resulting from their personal use of the telephone or fax machine. Employees receiving minor calls during unscheduled work periods that are work-related will not be compensated. However, if calls or emails are required to be answered by non-exempt employees regularly during not work periods, they might be subject to compensation. Employees should discuss non-work period use of phones and emails with their supervisor.
