It shall be unlawful for any person owning or maintaining any place or public accommodation, public entertainment or amusement, restaurant, hotel, hospital, swimming pool, store, theater, or who operates any public transportation facility to exclude therefrom any service animal as defined in section 5-2-3 of this chapter; provided, that such service animal be in the company of the person for whom it was trained to assist.
