(a) The Mayor is hereby authorized and directed to submit to the Municipal Home Rule Board, in accordance with the provisions and requirements of W.Va. Code §6-1-5a, as amended, the application and written plan, and to request that the Board approve the application and written plan thereby allowing the City to participate in the permanent Municipal Home Rule Program.
(b) The Mayor and the City’s officers are further authorized to do all things reasonably necessary to obtain approval of the City’s application and written plan including, but not limited to, payment of the two thousand dollar ($2,000) annual assessment if and when such assessment is made by the Municipal Home Rule Board.
