Stealing from the COS or from co-workers will not be tolerated. Materials or office supplies may not be removed from the City premises without the approval of the Mayor. The City reserves the right to define "materials" in specific instances but, in general, materials that do not belong to you must be left on the premises.
Falsification of your time cards and misuse of your time at work shall also be considered theft. Employees are not paid just to be in the building; they paid to work and produce results. Because the City's desire to prevent and detect theft, your terms and conditions of employment include polygraph testing when theft is suspected, routine searches of the workplace and electronic surveillance.
Theft in whatever form is grounds for immediate termination from employment and may result in prosecution.
