The COS is committed to providing its employees with a comfortable working environment. Due to the increasing evidence of the dangers of tobacco smoke and smokeless tobacco, employees are encouraged not to smoke or use smokeless tobacco.
The COS recognizes, however, that the decision is a personal one. While the COS does not wish to interfere with that decision, it does want to protect those who have chosen not to smoke. Therefore, smoking is restricted to specific areas designated by management.
All enclosed areas are designated as "NO SMOKING" areas and signs will be posted accordingly. Employees can smoke only in designated smoking areas outdoors. There is absolutely no smoking or using smokeless tobacco in restrooms, elevators, hallways, offices or stairways. Smoking in COS vehicles is prohibited.
