139.32 DISABILITY INCOME.
   Short-term Disability
   Eligible regular full-time employees may qualify for short-term disability income under this policy provided sickness or disability is not covered by Worker's Compensation. A regular full-time employee who becomes disabled due to sickness or injury shall be eligible to draw sixty percent (60%) of his or her base hourly pay or salary with a maximum monthly benefit of three thousand dollars ($3,000) beginning on the eighth (8th) day of sickness or injury. The employee may also use any accumulated sick leave or vacation time to supplement that income up to a limit of their normal weekly pay excluding overtime and bonuses. This coverage will continue for a period of eighty-two (82) days.
   Long-term Disability
   Eligible regular full-time employees may qualify for long-term disability insurance under a separate policy provided the disability is not covered by Worker's Compensation. A regular full-time employee who becomes disabled due to sickness or injury shall be eligible to draw sixty percent (60%) of his or her base hourly pay or salary with a maximum monthly benefit of three thousand ($3,000) beginning on the ninety-first (91st) day of sickness or injury. This is offset by any Social Security benefits received. The employee may also use any accumulated sick leave or vacation to supplement that income up to a limit of their normal weekly pay excluding overtime or bonuses. The coverage continues to age 65 or for 3 years 6 months, if longer. Maximum Benefit Periods for ages 62 and older and other details are defined in the actual insurance policy.
Determination of eligibility for short-term and long-term disability will be made by the carrier of the long-term disability plan.
