139.09 INTRODUCTORY PERIOD.
The first ninety (90) calendar days of employment can be considered as an introductory period. This period will afford new employees an opportunity to familiarize themselves with their work and new surroundings and management to evaluate performance, work habits and attitudes, and compatibility with work environment. The length of the introductory period can be extended or reduced if the Mayor determines that such an extension or reduction is warranted.
Upon satisfactorily completing the introductory period an employee becomes entitled to accrued leave and other fringe benefits subject to the terms, conditions and limitations of those benefit programs. Vacation days and sick leave will be accumulated during the introductory period if the employee is retained as a regular full-time employee.
