(A) The rate of speed of any vehicle may be timed on any street, alley, or highway within the corporate limits of the borough by properly trained and certified full-time or part-time police officers of the borough using a mechanical or electrical speed timing device.
(B) All mechanical or electrical state-approved speed monitoring devices shall be of a type approved by the state’s Department of Transportation and shall be calibrated and tested as required by the regulations of the state’s Department of Transportation and the statutes of the state.
(C) The borough is hereby authorized and directed to enter into an agreement with the State Police to permit the enforcement of speed restrictions by properly trained and certified full-time and part-time police officers of the borough through the use of mechanical or electrical state-approved speed monitoring devices on all limited access or divided highways and/or state designated highways within the physical boundaries of the borough.
(D) The borough shall erect official traffic-control devices, giving notice of the use of mechanical or electrical state-approved speed monitoring devices upon or at the entrances to the highway, street, or alley or part thereof affected as may be most appropriate, pursuant to the provisions of 75 Pa.C.S.A. § 6109(c).
