A building permit, when issued, shall be kept at the building or place where the erection, construction, improvement, alteration or repair is being done and, on demand, shall be produced by the person in charge of the work for inspection by any police officer or any Town Council member or officer. It shall be unlawful to continue work without producing a permit for inspection, when demanded.
