(A) A bicycle left on a street or other public property for more than 24 hours may be impounded by city’s law enforcement.
(B) A bicycle parked in violation of this chapter that also obstructs or impedes pedestrian or vehicle traffic or otherwise endangers the public may be immediately impounded by a law enforcement officer, in addition to any citation issued.
(C) If a bicycle impounded under this chapter is licensed, or other means of identifying its ownership exist, city’s law enforcement shall make reasonable efforts to notify the owner. No impoundment fee shall be charged to the owner of a stolen bicycle that has been impounded.
(D) Except as provided in division (E) below, a fee in an amount that shall be determined by the City Council shall be charged to the owner of a bicycle impounded under this section.
(E) A bicycle impounded under this chapter that remains unclaimed after 120 days shall be disposed of in accordance with city procedures for disposal of abandoned or lost personal property.
