§ 52.02 CROSS-CONNECTIONS PROHIBITED.
   (A)   (1)   The installation or maintenance of a cross-connection which will endanger the water quality of the potable water supply system of the purveyor shall be unlawful and is prohibited. Any such cross-connection now existing or hereafter installed is hereby declared to be a public hazard and the same shall be abated.
      (2)   The control or elimination of cross-connections shall be in accordance with this chapter and in compliance with Oregon Administrative Rules for public drinking water system 333-61- 0005 through 333-61-0098.
   (B)   The Public Works Directors shall have the authority to establish requirements more stringent than state regulations if he or she deems that the conditions so dictate. The purveyor shall adopt rules and regulations as necessary to carry out the provisions of this chapter.
   (C)   The Public Works Director is hereby authorized to enforce the provisions of this chapter in the inspection of existing, new, and remodeled buildings.
