505.01 KEEPING ANIMALS AND FOWL RESTRICTED; RUNNING AT LARGE.
   (a)   No person being the owner or harborer, or having charge of any horse, mule, cow, sheep, goat, swine, chickens, geese, ducks, or any other fowl or animals shall keep, harbor or permit the same within the Village.
   (b)   The provisions of this section shall not be applicable to domesticated pets, including dogs and cats, not to exceed five, one year of age or over, or to persons engaged in a nonconforming use as defined in the Zoning Ordinance.
   (c)   No person being the owner or or having charge of any dog, whether registered or unregistered, shall permit it to run at large upon any public place or upon any unenclosed lands within the Municipality or upon the premises of another.
   (d)   On complaint made to the police of the Village of Stryker, of a dog owned or kept in the Village, which by barking, biting, howling, or in any way or manner, disturbs the quiet of any person, the police shall issue a notice of such complaint to the person owning, keeping or permitting such dog to be kept, and if the person so notified neglects to cause said dog to be forthwith removed and kept beyond the limits of the Village, or to be destroyed, he shall be fined not more than twenty-five dollars ($25.00); provided that the Mayor or judge before whom the complaint is heard is satisfied that such dog has disturbed the quiet of any person in the Village.
   (e)   Whoever impounds or confines a dog and fails to supply it with sufficient quantity of wholesome food and water, or whoever fails to provide suitable shelter for a dog, or whoever cruelly beats, abuses or mutilates a dog, shall be fined not more than twenty-five dollars ($25.00).

   (f)   Whoever, being the owner of a dog permits it to be off the property occupied by the owner of the dog without being on a leash or in control of the owner, the person in charge of the dog, or to run at large, or without a dog license tag or ID issued by authority of the laws of the State of Ohio, attached to the dog is guilty of a minor misdemeanor.

   (g)   Whoever violates this section is guilty of a minor misdemeanor.
