7-3-2: RAILROAD CROSSINGS:
   A.   Maintenance And Repair Of Crossings: Any railroad company, which may now or hereafter operate any railroad within or through the limits of the village, shall construct and maintain safe, commodious and convenient crossings across the track of such railroad where the same intersects any street, alley, lane or avenue of the village, the full width of such street, alley, lane or avenue, and shall also make and maintain sufficient and proper conduits and gutters to carry off all water under or along such railroad tracks.
   B.   Notice To Repair: The superintendent shall, from time to time, notify in writing the station agent of the railroad company aforesaid, within what time and in what manner the village will require the construction or repair of the crossings, conduits and gutters aforesaid.    C.   Failure To Repair: Pursuant to the notice established in subsection B of this section, the railroad company shall forfeit to the village a fine as provided in section 1-4-1 of this code; and upon the persistent refusal of the railroad company to comply with the notice for a period of thirty (30) days after judgment for the first and each successive forfeiture, the railroad company shall forfeit to the village a like sum as provided in section 1-4-1 of this code.
