(a) No donation box shall be placed or maintained on any property in the Municipality unless a permit for such donation box is obtained from the Zoning Inspector. Permits shall be granted for each calendar year and a new permit is required for each subsequent calendar year.
(b) A donation box located completely inside a building shall not require a permit and is not subject to these regulations.
(c) Permits shall only be granted to recognized 501(C)(3) non-profit organizations for donation boxes that meet the standards, location, correction and removal requirements contained in this Chapter.
(d) The permit applicant and holder is required to provide identifying information that shall include the correct address, telephone number, and verifiable contact person for the non- profit organization; the name and contact information of the property owner of the location of the donation box; the name and contact information of a person or persons primarily responsible for placing, emptying, servicing, maintaining and removing the donation box. Updated contact information shall be provided to the Zoning Inspector during the year if such contact information changes.
(e) The property owner shall approve in writing the location of the donation box on the property.
(f) Donation boxes shall be located in a B, B-T, or C-3 District only and are not permitted on vacant or abandoned properties. However, a donation box shall be permitted if it is located on the premises of the non-profit applicant regardless of the district.
