167.07 WITNESSES FOR INVESTIGATIONS, APPEALS.
   The Civil Service Commission shall have the power to subpoena and require the attendance and testimony of witnesses and the production of books, papers, public records and other evidence pertinent to the investigation or hearing on appeal from the action or decision of an appointing officer and to examine them as it may require in relation to any matter which it has authority to investigate, inquire into or hear. Fees shall be allowed to witnesses and shall be paid by the Finance Director for attendance and travel, as is provided for witnesses in courts of record.
