AMENDMENT TO SECTION R-302.6
Dwelling/garage fire separation
   A.   Table R-302.6 Replace existing table with table below:

   B.   Subsection R-302.6.1 Separation required: Delete the text in this subsection in its entirety and insert the following:
   The garage shall be completely separated from the residence and its attic area per table 302.6. Access hatches shall be metal and of a fire-rated construction.
   C.   Insert Subsection R-309.6.2 Gas curb
   309.6.2 Gas Curb: A 4-inch minimum high concrete gas curb shall be installed against all living areas.
AMENDMENT TO SECTION R-310
EMERGENCY ESCAPE AND RESCUE OPENINGS
   A.   Subsection R-310.1
   Exception: An escape window shall not be required in the room when a door is provided.
AMENDMENT TO SECTION R-312
GUARDS
   A.   Subsection R-312.1.1 Guards:
   Change 30 inches to 18 inches
AMENDMENT TO SECTION R-321
DWELLING UNIT SEPARATION
   A.   Subsection R-302.3 Two-family dwellings:
   First paragraph - Delete where it reads: 1-hour fire-resistive rating and replace with 2-hour fire-resistive rating.
   Delete "Exceptions" in its entirety.
   B.   Subsection R-302.2 Townhouses:
   Exception: Add sentence to first paragraph under exception: The vertical separation walls between dwellings shall be constructed of masonry or concrete with a minimum of two-hour, UL listed assembly.
   C.   Subsection R-302.3 Sprinkler Systems
   R-302.3 Sprinkler Systems: All dwelling units shall be protected by an automatic sprinkler system in conformance with the 2012 International Building Code.
   Exception: A residential sprinkler system installed in accordance with Section 903.3.1.2 shall be allowed in buildings, or portions thereof.
AMENDMENT TO SECTION R-321
SITE ADDRESS
   A.   Subsection R-321.2
   R-321.2 House Numbers: All lots, buildings and structures in the Village of Streamwood shall be numbered in accordance with the street numbering plan of the Village, and the Village Clerk shall keep a chart showing the proper street number.
   B.   Subsection 321.3
   321.3 Locations: 1) Main entrance: The main entrance of all buildings shall have a street address number visible from the street. 2) The rear entrance of all multi-family dwelling units shall have the address posted with a minimum height of three (3) inches.
   C.   Subsection 321.4
   321.4 Size of Numbers: Address numbers shall be contrasting in color to the background, a minimum of four (4) inches in height, and a minimum of one-half inch stroke. Other identifying information on doors shall be approved by the Code Official.
NEW SECTION R-324
EXTERIOR STRUCTURE
   A.   Add new Subsection R-324 Exterior Structure:
      1.   No Permit shall be issued for new roofing or siding unless the roofing material or siding, as the case may be, on the entire structure is replaced. Where the structure consists of multi dwelling units, the improvement for all of the dwelling units shall be replaced at the same time whenever possible. Where the covenants and restrictions on the property require the exterior of the units to have consistent colors and materials, every attempt shall be made to match the existing colors and materials. If the entire multi-family structure is not replaced at the same time, and subject to subsection D2 herein, a letter of approval is required by the other dwelling unit owners or the association prior to the permit being issued.
      2.   Exceptions: In addition to any other requirements contained herein, permits for partial replacement of roofing and/or siding in all structures may be allowed with written approval of the building official when the following conditions are met:
         1.   A siding evaluation report is submitted from ITEL Laboratories, Inc.
         2.   The report shall indicate that the original product is still available.
         3.   The report shall indicate that the color match is a 1 or 2 value on the siding match chart.
         4.   No less than one side of the structure is going to be replaced.
