AMENDMENT TO SECTION 1807
FOUNDATION WALLS
A. Subsection 1807.1 Foundation Walls
Add sentences: The use of trenched foundations shall be determined by the recommendations of a geotechnical soil report attesting to the bearing values of the soil and the use of trench foundations. The minimum trench width shall be twelve inches (12").
B. Subsection 1807.1.3 Rubble stone:
Delete the text in this subsection in its entirety.
Subsection 1807.1.4 Wood foundations: Delete the text in this subsection it its entirety.
C. Subsection 1807.1.5 Concrete and Masonry Foundation walls:
Add sentences: Masonry foundation walls shall not be used below grade. All foundation walls shall be of monolithically poured concrete. Trenched footings must be poured the same day they are trenched; they must be reinforced.
AMENDMENT TO SECTION 1809
SHALLOW FOUNDATIONS
A. Subsection 1809.9 Masonry-unit footings:
Delete the text in this subsection in its entirety and insert the following:
Masonry - unit footings are not allowed to be constructed.
