A. Table 601 FIRE RESISTANCE RATING REQUIREMENTS FOR BUILDING ELEMENTS (hours)
Insert Note "G,H,I to Table 601:
G. All Dwelling Unit Separations shall have a minimum 2-hour fire resistance rating.
H. Use Group R-2 Structures: Dwelling units shall be separated by two-hour rated (vertical) walls, horizontal (floor) ceiling separation assemblies. Vertical separation walls between dwellings, and dwelling and other use groups, shall be constructed of masonry or concrete. Horizontal separation can be wood and/or drywall.
I. Use Group R-3 Structures: Each dwelling unit shall have an independent means of egress and is separated by a two-hour rated vertical (walls) and horizontal (floor) ceiling separation assemblies. Vertical separation walls between dwellings, and dwellings and other use groups, shall be constructed of masonry or concrete. Horizontal separations can be wood and drywall.
