AMENDMENT TO SECTION 403
HIGH-RISE BUILDINGS
A. Subsection 403.1 High-Rise Buildings:
Delete the text in this Subsection in its entirety and insert the following:
403.1 Applicability: The provision of this Section shall apply to all buildings having an overall building height to the highest roof level average height, including penthouse roofs, located more than fifty (50) feet above the lowest level of Fire Department vehicle access.
AMENDMENT TO SECTION 406
MOTOR-VEHICLE-RELATED OCCUPANCIES
A. Subsection 406.3.4 Attached Garages
406.3.6 Attached Garages: Private garages located beneath or adjacent to rooms in buildings of Use Groups R-1, R-2, R-3 or I-1 shall be separated from adjacent interior spaces by fire partitions, floors and ceilings which are constructed with not less than a 1-hour fire resistance rating. The sills of all door openings between the garage and adjacent interior spaces shall be raised not less than four (4) inches (102 mm) above the garage floor. Attached private garages shall be completely separated from the adjacent interior spaces and the attic by no less than one-hour fire resistance rated assembly. The door opening protectives shall be a minimum of one-hour fire resistance rating, including door hardware and self-closer.
