2-3-3: COMMISSIONERS; APPOINTMENT, TERM, VACANCY, QUORUM:
The commission shall be composed of nine (9) members who shall be known as commissioners. The commissioners shall be appointed by the village president with the advice and consent of the board of trustees. The president shall appoint, with the advice and consent of the board of trustees, one commissioner to serve as chairman and one commissioner to serve as vice chairman. The chairman and vice chairman shall serve for a period of one year and may be reappointed to successive terms.
It shall not be a requirement for appointment as a commissioner to be a resident of the village.
The nine (9) members of the commission shall be appointed to staggered terms. Five (5) members shall be appointed for two (2) years; four (4) members shall be appointed for three (3) years. Thereafter, their successors shall be appointed for two (2) year terms. (Ord. 1998-13, 3-5-1998)
If for any reason a commissioner is unable to attend any meeting or meetings, that commissioner may appoint a designee to attend in his or her absence. Appointed designees shall be counted for purposes of a quorum and shall have the right to vote in lieu of the absent commissioner. (Ord. 2015-7, 5-7-2015)
Any five (5) commissioners shall constitute a quorum. (Ord. 1998-13, 3-5-1998)
