All newly constructed or replaced cluster-style mailboxes shall comply with the following installation requirements:
(a) The cluster-style mailbox shall be located on a concrete pad located between the sidewalk and the curb that is at least 3' from the curb.
(b) The location of any cluster-style mailbox shall be approved by the City and the USPS. For cluster-style mailboxes in new subdivisions, the location of the mailbox shall be shown on the preliminary plat.
(c) The cluster-style mailbox shall have a 4' concrete access from the public street and the public sidewalk.
(d) The cluster-style mailbox shall be located at the property lines on the same side of the street that will be designated as a no parking zone.
(e) The cluster-style mailbox shall not be installed anywhere within a cul-de-sac or a circular offset cul-de-sac bulb.
(f) The cluster-style mailbox shall not be located to conflict with any public utilities, including, but not limited to, manholes, fire hydrants, and intakes.
(g) The cost of installation of the cluster-style mailbox, including, but not limited to, box units, the concrete pad, and the connecting sidewalk, shall be borne by the property owner, developer, or USPS. Subsequent maintenance of the box units and concrete pad shall be the responsibility of the USPS. Subsequent maintenance of the connecting sidewalk shall be the responsibility of the property owner adjacent to the sidewalk.
(h) No driveway or street access shall be constructed within 5' of the cluster-style mailbox. (Ord. 2009-145. Passed 7-9-09.)
