(a) The position of Economic Development Coordinator is established as a non-classified position in the service of the City, and the Mayor is authorized to appoint the Economic Development Coordinator subject to confirmation by a majority of the members of Council.
(b) The Economic Development Coordinator responsibilities shall include:
(1) Maintain a database of information resulting from an annual survey, onsite business retention and expansion calls and other independent research on Stow industries.
(2) Prepare an annual report on the state of the Stow economy, update the Community Profile on a biannual basis, and prepare quaiierly reports on new commercial and industrial investment in Stow.
(3) Submit annual budget for economic development activities as part of annual budgetary process.
(4) Maintain economic development web page on City's webpage. Specifically, maintain update inventory of available buildings, vacant land, and other features on a daily basis.
(5) Maintain active participating memberships with regional development organizations.
(6) Establish and maintain regular communication with industrial and commercial brokers, realtors, developers, and other economic development coordinators on available properties. Provide prompt response to leads generated by the Ohio Department of Development.
(7) Update and maintain economic development marketing materials.
(8) Preparation of a monthly report for Council to be given during a Planning Committee meeting.
(9) To conduct an on-going program of business retention calls to Stow industries.
(c) The duties listed in subsection (b) are the core responsibilities of the Economic Development Coordinator and may be supplemented and prioritized at any time by the Director of Planning and Development or the Mayor.
