1503.01 ESTABLISHMENT; MEMBERS.

Pursuant to Section 4.18 of the City Charter there is established a Department of Fire Prevention. The Director of Public Safety shall be the head of this Department. The Fire Marshal shall be the Chief Inspector thereof. The Fire Marshal shall report to and be under the direct authority of the Chief of the Fire Department and the Director of Public Safety only. The Director, upon the recommendation of the Fire Marshal, shall appoint and have the power to remove, without compliance with Sections 4.17 and 21.02 of the City Charter, such additional fire prevention inspectors as may be necessary to carry out the provisions of this Fire Prevention Code.
