Beginning in 2019, the City of Stow will cease holding primary elections to nominate candidates for the regular municipal election. All qualified candidates for all elected offices provided for in this Charter shall be considered nominated upon certification by the County Board of Elections and shall have his or her official name appear on the ballot for the November regular municipal election.
Each candidate shall file a separate nominating petition with the Summit County Board of Elections on or before the ninetieth day prior to the date of the regular municipal election established herein; group petitions shall not be used. The laws of Ohio with respect to the procedure for nomination by petition of non-partisan candidates shall govern, except as otherwise provided herein. (Amended 11-7-17)
