The Town of Stoneville operates under the council-manager form of government as provided in G.S. Chapter 160A, Article 7, Part 2.
Editor’s note:
This section was amended pursuant to a resolution introduced and adopted on 12-4-1990 to hold a special election on a referendum to allow the town to operate under a Mayor-Council plan instead of a Council-Manager Plan, which said referendum was certified by the Rockingham County Board of Elections on March 5, 1991 allowing said change, and then passed pursuant to an ordinance introduced and adopted on March 12, 1991 with an effective date of March 29, 1991. This section was further amended by Ord. 0-2016-01, adopted March 1, 2016 to change to a council-manager form of government.
