§ 31.49 DIVISION OF CODE ENFORCEMENT.
   (A)   Responsibilities and duties of the Division.
      (1)   The Division of Code Enforcement is a separate and distinct village division with its own responsibilities and personnel that shall be deployed pursuant to the direction of the Director of Public Safety and the Commander of the Code Enforcement Division.
      (2)   The Division of Code Enforcement shall be required to perform all duties and related duties as set forth by state statute and village codes and ordinances with the primary responsibility and emphasis on the enforcement of all village ordinance.
      (3)   Any and all duties as directed by the Director of Public Safety.
   (B)   Required personnel.
      (1)   There shall be one Commander of Code Enforcement appointed by the Mayor with advice and consent of the Board of Trustees.
         (a)   The Commander of Code Enforcement’s duties and job description shall be set forth by the Director of Public Safety which may be amended from time to time.
         (b)   The Commander of the Code Enforcement Division shall only have supervisory authority over those individuals within his or her Division.
         (c)   The Commander of the Code Enforcement Division shall report directly to the Assistant Director of Public Safety who shall have immediate supervisory authority over the Commander of the Code Enforcement Division.
      (2)   There shall be two part-time Code Enforcement Officers with the rank of Sergeant appointed to that rank by the Mayor with the advice and consent of the Board of Trustees that report directly to the Commander of Code Enforcement and whose duties are set forth by the Director of Public Safety.
      (3)   Upon request from the Director of Public Safety, the Mayor, with the advice and consent of the Board of Trustees, may appoint up to ten Code Enforcement Officers referred to as “Code Enforcement Officers” to perform the duties as designated by the Director of Public Safety.
