(A) Responsibilities and duties of the Division of Police.
(1) The Division of Police shall be the division designated with and primarily concerned with those duties commonly referred to as “police matters”.
(2) The Division of Police shall be required to perform all duties as set forth by state statute and village codes and ordinances.
(3) Any and all duties as directed by the Director of Public Safety.
(B) Required personnel.
(1) There shall be one Commander of Police appointed by the Mayor with advice and consent of the Board of Trustees.
(a) The duties and job description of the Commander of Police shall be set forth by the Director of Public Safety and which may be amended from time to time.
(b) The Commander of Police shall only have supervisory authority over those individuals within his or her Division.
(c) The Commander of Police shall report directly to the Assistant Director of Public Safety whom shall have immediate supervisory authority over the Commander of Police.
(2) There shall be one full-time Lieutenant(s) who shall perform the duties as set forth by the Director of Public Safety, Commander of Police and/or the Village Police Department’s rules and regulations.
(3) There shall be five full-time Sergeant(s) promoted to the rank by the Mayor and Village Board pursuant to village ordinance and the rules and regulations of the Village of Stone Park Fire and Police Board who shall perform the duties as set forth by the Director of Public Safety, Commander of Police and/or the Village Police Department’s rules and regulations.
(4) There shall be 12 full-time patrolpersons, referred to as “police officers”, hired by the Mayor and Board of Trustees pursuant to the village ordinance and the rules and regulations of the Village Fire and Police Board who shall perform the duties as set forth by the Director of Public Safety, Commander of Police, their supervisory personnel and the Village Police Department’s rules and regulations.
(5) There shall be up to six part-time patrol officers, referred to as “police officers”, appointed by the Mayor with the advice and consent of the Board of Trustees and who shall perform the duties as set forth by the Director of Public Safety, Commander of Police, their supervisory personnel and the Village Police Department’s rules and regulations.
