It is declared to be the public policy of this village in the exercise of this power to regulate for the protection of the public health, safety, morals and welfare: to assure fair housing and freedom from discrimination throughout the community, to protect the community from the effects of residential segregation by race, color, religion, creed, ancestry, national origin, age, sex, marital status, disability, sexual orientation, parental status, military discharge status, source of income, gender identity, or housing status, and to secure to its citizens the economic, social and professional benefits of living in a stable society.
