Every officer and employee of the village, upon the expiration of his or her term for any cause, shall deliver to his or her successor all books and records which may be the property, together with other property, of the village. If no successor has been appointed within one week after the termination of office, the property shall be delivered to the Village Clerk or Village Treasurer.
