(A) All signs and other advertising structures shall be described and constructed to withstand a wind pressure of not less than 15 pounds per square foot of area and shall be constructed to receive dead load as described in the Building Code and elsewhere in this code.
(B) All wall signs shall be safely and securely attached to the building wall by means of metal anchors, bolts or expansion screws of not less than three-eighteenths inch in diameter embedded in the wall at least five inches. The signs may rest in or be bolted to strong, heavy metal brackets or saddles set not only six feet apart, each of which shall be securely fixed to the wall as hereinbefore provided. In no case shall any wall sign be secured by wire, strips of wood or nails.
(C) All ground signs shall be erected upon posts and standards sunk at least four feet below the surface of the ground.
(D) The lettering or advertising designs to be illuminated may be composed of glass or other transparent or semi-transparent material. Any glass forming a part of any sign shall be safety glass or plate glass at least one-quarter inch thick and in case of a single piece of plate glass has an area exceeding three square feet shall be wire placed.
(E) Any moveable part of a sign such as the cover of a service opening shall be secured and fastened by chains or hinges.
(F) No temporary signs attached to an automobile truck or motor vehicle of any kind shall be attached thereto so as to obstruct the driver’s vision to the front, side or rear during operation of that motor vehicle.
