§ 36.99 PENALTY.
   (A)   A person who knowingly or intentionally violates any provision of § 36.02 of this chapter may be fined in an amount not to exceed $2,500.
   (B)   A person who knowingly or intentionally violates any provision of § 36.03 of this chapter is subject to a fine in an amount of not more than $5,000.
   (C)   Any person who knowingly or intentionally makes a false report alleging a violation of any provision of this chapter to the local enforcement authorities, the State’s Attorney or any other law enforcement official may be fined in an amount not to exceed $2,500.
   (D)   A violation of §§ 36.02 or 36.03 of this chapter shall be prosecuted before the Ethics Commission through the designated administrative procedure. Decisions of the Ethics Commission may be appealed to the Village Board, unless the respondent is a member of the Village Board, in which case the decision may be appealed to the Circuit Court of the county pursuant to the Administrative Review Act.
   (E)   In addition to any other penalty that may be applicable, an employee who knowingly or intentionally violates any provision of §§ 36.02 or 36.03 of this chapter is subject to discipline or discharge and an appointed official may be removed from office if the removal is otherwise authorized by statute or ordinance.
