(A) Establishment of rank. The full time sworn rank of sergeant shall be established within the Village of Stone Park Police Department.
(B) Number of sergeants. There shall be two full time sworn sergeants who shall be promoted to said rank by the Chief of Police with the approval of the Village Board of Trustees.
(C) Eligibility and promotion. Full time sworn village police officers who have five years of experience within the Village Police Department shall be eligible to test to be promoted to the position of sergeant. The promotion and testing shall be pursuant to village rules and regulations and Illinois Statute as administered by the Village of Stone Park Board of Fire and Police Commissioners.
(D) Duties and responsibilities. Sergeants shall be under the direct supervision of the appointed position of Commander and shall perform the duties as set forth by the Chief of Police and their supervisory personnel pursuant to the rules, regulations and procedures of the Village Police Department.
(E) The salary for the position of Sergeant shall be the top step of the patrol's base wage scale plus $8,000.
