(A) Persons who are provided with ambulance service and transported to a medical facility by the Village Fire Department or any agency acting on its behalf shall be charged according to the following rates.

Note 1: ALS 1 is defined as basic life support care, plus advanced life support care, given by an EMT-paramedic licensed in the state and operating under the Loyola University Medical Center EMS System. ALS 1 includes establishing or attempting to establish intravenous access, monitoring of cardiac rhythm with a cardiac monitor, medication administration. | ||
Note 2: ALS 2 is defined as basic life support and advanced life support (1) care given by an EMT-paramedic licensed in the state and operating under the Loyola University Medical Center EMS System. ALS 2 also includes three medications administered, advanced airway management procedures including, but not limited to, endo-tracheal intubation, use of the combi-tube, surgical and needle crichoidotomy, pleural needle decompression, other paramedic-level skills approved by the Loyola University Medical Center EMS System. | ||
Note 3: ENGINE EMS RESPONSE is defined as the engine responding to an EMS call as a first responder vehicle or responding to assist the ambulance from the Village Fire Department or a surrounding community responding to the village. | ||
Note 4: ALS TREAT NO TRANSPORT is defined as an EMS call where the patient is given paramedic-level care (i.e. IV and dextrose for hypoglycemia), then refuses transport to the hospital by the ambulance. BLS TREAT NO TRANSPORT is defined where the patient is given EMT-basic level care then refuses transport to the hospital. | ||
Note 5: ENGINE RESCUE RESPONSE is defined as the engine company responding to a motor vehicle accident to provide rescue services, a vehicle fire or a fuel spill. Responses may also include EMS charges and other charges relating to the incident as appropriate. | ||
(B) Persons who are provided with assistance by a village engine company as a result of an automobile accident shall be charged $250 for the service.
(C) Upon obtaining the pertinent information from the recipient for the ambulance service, the person who has received ambulance or engine company service will be billed for the service by an independent billing agency, chosen by the 20th Division MABAS Fire Departments. The village reserves the right to terminate the billing cycle.
(D) The village reserves the right to waive the fees and or related service charges to village residents.
