§ 32.09 AUTHORIZATION FOR OTHER PERSONNEL.
   (A)   There shall be one Chief.
   (B)   There shall be two Commanders: One in charge of operations and the second in charge of the patrol division.
   (C)   There shall be:
      (1)   Not more than 12 patrol officers;
      (2)   Such part-time patrol officers as the Village Board shall deem, from time to time, to be appropriate in number (eight-hour week, minimum; 24 hours per week, maximum).
      (3)   Such auxiliary officers as the Village Board shall deem, from time to time, to be appropriate in number (16 hours per month, minimum).
   (D)   Effective on the date of the ordinance codified herein, there shall be no longer be the mandatory ranks of lieutenant and/or sergeant. Officers who currently hold the ranks of lieutenant and/or sergeant shall be permitted to continue to hold such rank until such officers retire, resign or are otherwise separated from their employment with the village. As the lieutenant and/or sergeant position that are occupied on the date of enactment of the section are vacated as described herein, those positions shall be abolished and eliminated by attrition.
