Newly hired police officers in the Village Police Department shall execute the following agreement, contingent on their starting date:
AGREEMENT
WHEREAS, , of , has made application to and has otherwise complied with all requirements, regulations and rules of the Village of Stone Park to be appointed and sworn in as a Police Officer of the Police Department of the Village of Stone Park; and
WHEREAS, the Village of Stone Park is ready, willing and able to appoint said as a Patrol Officer to the Police Department of the Village of Stone Park; and
WHEREAS, the parties acknowledge that upon the appointment of , the Village of Stone Park will incur certain costs and expenses relative to and consistent with the training, preparation and orientation of as a Patrol Officer in the approximate amount of $ ; and
WHEREAS, the parties acknowledge that if should terminate his/her employment within three (3) years after appointment as a Patrol Officer to the Police Department of the Village of Stone Park, the Village of Stone Park will suffer a financial loss in the approximate amount of $ .
NOW THEREFORE, for and in consideration of the mutual promises and representation of the parties hereto, by each to the other, receipt of which is hereby acknowledged, it is agreed, as follows:
(1) That upon appointment of , the Village of Stone Park will pay and be responsible for certain debts and obligations on behalf of for his/her training, preparation and orientation;
(2) That in the event should voluntarily terminate his/her employment with the Village of Stone Park prior to the date of the third anniversary from his/her appointment as Patrol Officer of the Police Department of the Village of Stone Park, shall reimburse said amount expended by the Village of Stone Park as aforesaid.
