Whenever any dog bites a person, the owner of said dog shall immediately notify the Chief of Police who shall order the dog to be held on the owner's premises or shall have such dog impounded for a period of ten (10) days. The dog shall be examined immediately after it has bitten anyone and again at the end of the ten (10) day period. (1966 Code §22.206)
